I am undoubtedly the worse homemaker in the entire world. And that being said you will understand the significance of this incidence on my mental well being. I knew I shouldn’t do it, that I should just keep buying the laundry detergent from the store, but NO I had to try it! Got all the ingredients , grated and melted the soap bar, added all other items as instructed. Mixed it all up , moved the five gallon bucket to the laundry room and covered tightly. Woke up the next morning and went to start the laundry. Removed the lid and there it was…..this huge at least three inch thick solid grease looking blob. I sat in the floor and burst into tears. Now there I was with no laundry detergent and all the money to buy any spent on this mess I had created. Needless to say I had to use what I could from underneath the blob to do my clothes. My husband got home that afternoon and I explained to him what had occurred. Well as the love of my life and the fixer of all my messes, he had a plan. I watched him open the outdoor shed and in a few minutes here he came with a drill, battery pack, long metal stick looking thing that hooked onto the drill. He grabbed up that five gallon bucket and onto the patio he went. I could hear all manner of drilling going on, honestly I was afraid to look out there. But he is my laundry soap fixing hero. I suppose I just didn’t mix it up well enough. Maybe they should add that to the helpful hint on the recipe!
